Researcher at MARE-ISPA, working on the Conservation, Phylogeny, Phylogeography and Population Genetics of Iberian freshwater fish species. Scientific coordinator of a pioneer ex-situ conservation program for restocking endangered fish populations, ongoing since 2007, and of the monitoring and educational “Peixes Nativos" project, targeting endemic ichthyofauna (www.peixesnativos.pt).
